Cancellations....

OK.. let me blow on this one!

I had three hours reserved for a client last week.  We were supposed to do our business, then go out to lunch together (her turn to buy - she's a friend).   

She called two hours before the appointment and wanted to push it back to later in the day because the day was so beautiful (and it was.. sunny, warm, very nice)... and she wanted to take her dog to the dog park.

Now remember, she's a friend.  So I said "sure... no problem.... let's get together at 5 and then go out for dinner instead."  She agreed.

Well.. then a typically busy afternoon went down... and I was rushed trying to get everything done so I could be free at 5 to see her.

In the middle of mayhem, she sends me a text message at 4:15 saying:  "Gotta cancel.  So-and-so got tickets for a basketball game for tonight"

Ugh.

The whole day was screwed up... and I realize it was my fault for not being a little more firm earlier in the day.

Without going into detail, just know the hardest part of this to swallow was that I was trying to do her some favors ... and it obviously wasn't appreciated.

Just know that it happens to all of us...

I had almost the same thing happen to me, but with one little twist. We did get together 2 days later and I said that I would drive since she was paying and when she went to get her money she had forgotten her wallet. We don't go out very much these days.
