On the 8th day, Gosh created plum wine & sushi!

Hi all...

I have to bring this one up.  I was on the phone with a really nice gal yesterday and I feel kind bad for her.

She's involved in a nutritional type company (that alone isn't bad) but she was thinking that because the company was new, it was a "ground floor" opp and that the fact of being new would be a benefit.

Let me be honest.   I really think the "ground floor" mentality thing has no merit.  IN the end, we are ALL at the "ground floor" of what we build.   It doesn't matter what else is going on in the company - not really.  Instead, the "ground floor" benefit is that we are at the beginning of what we create in the way of teams, downlines, whatever.

Our business is only as good as what we put into it.

So this gal yesterday is working with a product that seems kinda techy.  I'm thinking that she's having a rough go with it because she probably feels she has to talk all of the benefits.  And basically, clients don't care about the fine details (at least I don't think they do).

So... I'm just curious what you guys think of the whole "ground floor" thing.  Does it really help in business building to reduce your efforts?

Hi Sally

I am not too sure about this whole "ground floor opportunity" thing.  Companies come, companies go.....so when first starting with a new company I think there would be some hestitation on my part until I have seen some company results.  I know we all have to start somewhere and it can be interesting conversation when you are the "new kid" on the block, but I feel more comfortable with something that already has a decent reputation.  I guess I just like a little stabiltiy in my life.   Smiley

I do agree that we are all at "ground floor" when we first join a company.  We are all building our business from the ground up.  There are still alot of women that have never heard of BC or Jafra out there still, so it is up to us to share that with them.  So, while it might be new to them, we already know the stability and reputation that stands behind us.

Agreed, Nora.

And... The startups always are going to have some bugs to work out.. and those growing pains can be really expensive to live through, IMO.

Some people love the excitement of a new thing... and I guess that's good for them if it makes them happy.
